Objective

Engage participants to move from one level of understanding to another, from presentation of new ideas to application of ideas, from considerations about self to situations involving others. (Variation of One Minute Paper).

Possible "On Ground" Activity Procedure:

1) ask (at the end of a class period, or at a natural break in the presentation), "What was the "muddiest point" in today's lecture?" or 2) be more specific, asking, for an example: "What (if anything) do you find unclear about the concept of 'personal identity' ('inertia', 'natural selection', etc.)?".
